Affirmations for Pregnancy
March 11th, 2008It is important to focus on staying positive and reducing fear during pregnancy with regards to the birth process and becoming a mother. Using affirmations, said daily, at least once, can re program at least some of your fear into positive energy. This is important on so many levels. Positive thoughts and energy increase your ability to focus, to cope and to grow a healthy and happy baby inside you.
Below are listed some of my favourite affirmations. You can write you own based on what you feel you need more strength and focus for. Be mindful that they are positively phrased. Beware of ‘I don’t want’ and ‘I will not’ these are negatives that seem like positives. All you are really doing is stating something you don’t want to happen or that you fear, with three words before it. You are still stating and re stating the thing you don’t want. Focus on how you want things to be.’ I will be a great mother’, ‘I will get through labour and delivery drug free’. As opposed to ’I will not be a mother like …’ Or ‘I don’t want to use pain relief drugs when birthing my baby’. Subtle difference – but oh so important.
Feel free to use mine to get you started. You will be amazed how positive thoughts will begin to flood your brain once you get it used to them. Have a great pregnancy and enjoy, creating life is so precious and we should always view it as a miracle.
