Haute Pocket Nappies - Use and Care Instructions

Haute Pocket Nappies are easy to use. You should always pre wash your baby’s new nappies and with Haute Pocket Nappies this is very simple. Separate all the pieces of your nappies, place your pockets into a mesh (open weave mesh not fabric) lingerie bag to preserve the Velcro. Full washing instructions at the end of this sheet.

How To Use Your Nappy
Your Hautes are a pocket nappy and you will see an opening in the back of the nappy where your boosters are placed inside. First use the snaps at the front to adjust the nappy to the correct size for your baby. Snapped all the way up for a newborn and snapped down as your baby grows.

Once you have selected the size you need, simply stuff the pocket with the microfibre inserts provided. You have 2 boosters for your pockets which snap together. For a newborn, you can use just the small insert. Remember to change often though as on its own, it is too small to last too long. You can use the large insert alone (absorbent) or snap both together for a very absorbent nappy.
Now place a folded Eenee liner inside of the nappy where your baby will soil to protect the micro fleece lining. Ensure that no part of the liner is over the edge as this will cause leaking.

Your nappy is now ready to place under your baby. Once correctly situated, wrap the tabs around your baby and velcro close in the right position for your baby’s size.

When changing your baby you must change the entire nappy for their comfort and safety.

Washing Your Nappies

Washing your Haute Nappies could not be easier. Simply take the entire nappy to the laundry (once your baby is happy and placed somewhere safe) and separate the components.

-Take the flushable liner and place it in the toilet to be flushed.

-Remove the microfibre inserts from the pocket rinse in warm water and place them in your nappy bucket (no soaking is required – however if there are stains on any of your boosters you can periodically soak them in non chlorine bleach if you like. (Be sure not to soak the pockets as it will degrade the waterproof outer.) Sun drying is a great way to sanitise and bleach out stains.

- If there is any solids on the pocket, rinse first and then place your pocket into the bucket also to await washing. I usually place them in the mesh wash bags at this point so they are ready when I go to wash.

- When you are ready to wash your nappies, place them into the machine and wash with warm water. Use only ½ or less than ½ the recommended amount of detergent in your wash. Too much detergent can mean the fabric begins to repel water and cause leaks. Be sure not to use clear or natural soap products, liquid detergents or fabric softener as they leave an oily film on the lining and hinder absorption.

Drying your Haute nappies is a breeze. Your pockets will dry very quickly and do not need to be tumble dried. Microfibre boosters dry quite fast due to the nature of the fabric. They can be tumble dried if needed. Remember though, that this reduces the environmental benefits of your nappies.

Congratulations on the decision to cloth nappy your baby. We feel it is one of the biggest and most important decisions you can make for your baby’s future. You have massively reduced your baby’s carbon footprint and should be proud.
